Not sure I agree on the third goal last night. Anderson had it covered and he took it out of his glove. I didnt think that was allowed. |

Not sure the discussion of the lottery pick going to Colorado is valid. The first pick has to go somewhere and it is probably better if it goes to a Western Conference team. There is a lot of symbolism for any team hitting a bottom (you journey to the deepest darkest point of the pit of despair and the light finally breaks through from below).
Smart traders talk about financial market bottoms as the perfect opportunity for buying and growth. Prior to the bottom, you hold what has long term potential and sell off everything else in order to raise capital to be able to buy once bottom is made.
I think this is exactly the strategy being followed by the Sens.

Ceci played another good game (22 minutes). No doubt in my mind he is being showcased. Same with Duchene, Stone, Dzingle and Anderson. I think a further drop in the standings is entirely probable. |

You can't blame Anderson on the first goal. It was deflected by Stone.
I agree about Balcers. Either play him or send him to the AHL to play. Playing young players less than 10 minutes is how you ruin their development. |

is it too soon to examine which teams the sens should be targeting in any trades?
Winnipeg, Nashville and Calgary are all high up in the standings and may be looking for someone to give them a push.
Dzingle would look good in Calgary I think. |

I think Duchene is a dynamite fit with the young Islanders.

Spatso: Ceci isn't being showcased by the Sens. He dresses because they have no other D, and he's better than some of the D men. I wouldn't look too much into Ceci getting 22 mins of ice time. If I'm not mistaken, he's been given ice time like that many times before. |

Trade Ceci to Edmonton for Puljujarvi.
Trade Duchene to Islanders for Dobson and a 1st.
Trade Dzingel to Boston for a 1st.
Trade Anderson to Philadelphia for a 2nd.
Re-sign Mark Stone.
The rebuild is on.
A stable of young players and good prospects: Chabot, White, Tkachuk, Formenton, Batherson, Lajoie, Jaros, Wolanin, Balcers, Puljujarvi, Dobson, Brown, Chlapik, Gustafsson, Norris, Bernard-Docker.
Two 1sts and three 2nd round picks this year. Two 1sts next year. They bottom out next year and have a shot at drafting Lafreniere.
